1959-1960

 Hawaii 1959

My Tutu had beautiful long hair. By tradition, many Hawaiian women never cut their hair, letting it grow for a lifetime.

Next to this lush garden of tropical flora was my grandpa's small grove of banana trees, and a scattered orchard of lemon, lime, guava, and papaya trees.

 Bikeride 1960

My dad did a good job refurbishing this used bike. Check out the snazzy whitewall tires.

Now that I had wheels, I could ride to the 7-Eleven and pick up a loaf of bread, and other assorted groceries for my mom.

All narration by my mom, Windy.

 Halloween 1960

Halloween was always a big event in our neighborhood.

The kids on Evora Drive always went trick-or-treating together, like some kind of suburban elementary school street gang.
