I’ve been a professional writer since 1977, beginning my career writing print and radio ad copy for a West Coast retail record distributor. From there, I remained in marketing and advertising in a variety of industries in different capacities that included agency, in-house, and freelance positions. In 1986, I started my own company that provided a niche service to small businesses, where I created direct mail and collateral printed material from concept to finished product. In 1993, I joined a start-up publishing company as the director of design and production. Shortly after, I was also handling editing, marketing, and promotion.

With the  advent and development of the internet, I took an interest in politics, contributing essays and comments on various newsgroups (before the term “blogging” had become popular). By 1996, I was creating promotion and publicity for a local political action committee. There, I wrote and edited a newsletter that was published quarterly.

In 2001 I hosted my own radio show, where I would discuss and comment on the political issues of the day, while discussing them with call-in listeners. This led to the co-founding of the American Association of Independent of Voters, a non-profit organization that provided non-partisan, independent perspectives from outside the political status quo.

2009 marked the beginning of my long-standing blogging career. Since that time, I’ve created a number of political blogs, each time approaching it from what seemed like every perspective imaginable. Each time, it was an effort to align my views to whatever political direction I thought the country was taking.

I don’t think anyone would dispute that over the years our country has moved in many directions up, down and sideways. But whatever the future brings, I expect I will continue to offer my views and opinions for as long as I’m free to do so. We’ll see how long that lasts.
